The kleptomaniac

Goh lee yin was cinvicted of shoplifting again last week. She did it while under probation.psychatrists have said that kleptomania is a condition that is very hard to cure and often triggered by depression. Mrs foo-lim jim jim said in her report:" the weak link is lee yin herself". she ws referring to a timetable done by lee yin's relatives to control her kleptomania. Goh lee yin is not totally to be blamed and i disagree with mrs foo assessment of her as bieng too weak to resist the temptation of stealing. According to doctor chue tin, the doctor for lee yin,, she had not stole for an entire year while under probation. she was also a diligent worker who socialised with other staff at mr tan clinic where she worked. she was allowed to handle cash and she did not steal anything at all.
All this proves that Goh lee yin can control her impulses. The reason she suffered a relapse was probably because of the negative comments directed at her which caused her to become depressd thereby triggering the relapse. While she eventually did succumbed to the thrill of staeling again, it should be noted that it was not entirely her fault. she should not be discriminated against by others just because of her criminal record, if others were to shun her because of her criminal record, it will just make her condition worse.
Goh lee yin boyfriend should also bear some responsibility over how she turn out this way as well. Back in 2004, he already knew of hewr condition and her uncontrollable urge to steal things yet he stood by and did nothing. he should have brpught her to a psychatrist or try to stop her but he did nothing except to keep her family in the dark.

I feel that the sailors captured by the iranians should not have been allow to sell their stories to the media in the first place. the defence ministry should never have such a exception to the usual rules. The rule prohibiting military personnel from selling their stories were in place precisely to prevent them from making money out of it. Heroic acts by military personnel take place all over the world on a daily basis, if these stories are sold to the media, we are suggesting that such heroic acts can be measured in terms of monetary values. If that is the case, it follows that the story of the heroic act that is worth more money will be considered more "heroic" than other acts of such nature. That is obviously not true It is the intention behind these acts that mattered and not the degree of heroism involved in these acts.

Selling stories of soldiers caught in bad situation is also unfair to many other military personnel. Soldiers are being killed in the line of duty in the middle east and there is usually only a brief and short report about them in the media. However the situation on the sailors captured by the iranians was widely covered by the media even though they were not in considerable danger. thus it is unfair to the soldiers killed in the line of duty and their families.

"what led to the massacre"

Cho Seung Hui was regarded as a loner by all who knew him, in a video delivered to the media in between his two shooting sprees, he revealed that he was isolated from others and that he was isolated from others and that no one wanted to befriend him. Yet was that what led him to go on a killing spree? He was a loner and had no friends but it was no fault of others. Other students in the campus wanted to befriend him. However he chose to ignore them all and keep to himself. Thus, he has no friends because he chose not to have them and not because others did not want to make friends with him.

What led Cho Seung Hui to committing the massacre was probably his unstable state of mind. He was once given treatment for mental health problems and was subsequently cleared by a psychiatrist. However it is obvious that his state of mind is still unstable as can be seen by the violent scripts he wrote for plays. The isolation he felt probably aggravated the already unstable condition of his mind causing him to go on a killing rampage.
